May 25, 2023Both of SeedChange’s boards are recruiting new members in 2023.
SeedChange’s mission is to build food sovereignty by working with partners to enhance biodiversity, promote ecological food systems, and counter inequity.
To oversee the delivery of this mission, SeedChange counts on the support of two governing bodies: the SeedChange Board of Directors, and the SeedChange Foundation Board of Directors.
If you are someone with a strong commitment to food sovereignty, and experience working on issues related to justice, equity, diversity and inclusion, please consider applying to become a member of one of our two Boards of Directors!
We currently have three Board members positions available. These positions are for a 2-year term. You must apply by August 1st, 2023
SeedChange Board of Directors
The SeedChange board stewards SeedChange’s vision, mission and strategic plan.
This board meets four times a year, including, when sanitary conditions allow, one annual meeting per year in Ottawa, Canada.
In between meetings, Board of Director members are expected to volunteer approximately 3 hours per month by participating in one or more of the Board’s committees, which include:
- The Executive Committee
- The Board Recruitment Committee
- The Finance and Audit Committee
- The Executive Director Performance Review Committee
- The Governance Committee (a joint committee that also includes members from the SeedChange Foundation Board of Directors).
The SeedChange Board of Directors is seeking two Directors from Canada.
The SeedChange Foundation Board of Directors
The SeedChange Foundation Board of Directors oversees the investment and allocation of the SeedChange Foundation, a $5 million endowment built up through the years thanks to the generosity of our donors.
Its objective is to support mission-aligned and ethical investing, and provide key insight into SeedChange’s financial management and fundraising strategies.
This board meets four times per year. In between meetings, board members are expected to volunteer approximately 1 hour per month sharing their expertise as needed. A subset of Foundation board members participate in SeedChange’s Finance and Audit and Governance Committees, and strike working groups on key issues on an as-needed basis.
The SeedChange Foundation Board of Directors is especially seeking new members with expertise in finance and/or fundraising, governance, and/or Indigenous knowledge.
